
Bulldogs Earn Ninth Straight Win With 3-2 Overtime Victory

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night at Copps Coliseum. Yannick Weber scored in overtime to lead the 'Dogs to their ninth straight win, tying the team's franchise record for winning streak.
The Marlies got on the scoreboard first at 4:57 of the opening period while on the power play. Drew Paris received the puck from Tim Brent before sending a pass across the ice to Brendan Mikkelson, who one-timed a shot that beat Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford.
The Bulldogs tied the game 1-1 at 15:55 of the first period with a power-play goal. David Desharnais received a pass from Grant Stevenson before firing a shot on net that was saved by Toronto starting goaltender James Reimer. Desharnais grabbed his own rebound before flipping it over Reimer and into the back of the net.
The Marlies took a 2-1 lead at 19:20 of the second stanza. Alex Foster skated into Hamilton's zone before deking past a Hamilton defender and snapping a shot over the glove of Sanford. Andre Deveaux and Paris also earned assists on the goal.
Hamilton tied the game at 7:43 of the final frame. While on the power play, Brock Trotter sent the puck to Andre Benoit, who was positioned at the left point. Benoit blasted a shot that White tipped over the blocker of Reimer and into the top of the net.
With the score tied, the game went into overtime. 1:43 seconds into the extra frame, Weber scored when he grabbed his own rebound and flipped the puck over top of Reimer and into the net. Shawn Belle and Trotter earned assists on the goal.
