
Columbus DS Jerald Brown named ADT Defensive Player of the Year

NEW YORK - Columbus DS JERALD BROWN (5-11, 185, Glenville State) was selected as the 2006 ADT Defensive Player of the Year as voted by the AFL head coaches, players, fans and Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA).
Brown, who just completed his third AFL season, also earned First-Team All-Arena honors last week. He was second in the League with 11 interceptions and third with 133 interception-return yardage during the regular season. He also led the Destroyers with 14 pass break-ups and was third on the team with 65.0 total tackles. Brown is the first Columbus player to earn an individual AFL postseason award.
Other players receiving votes this year included: Colorado's RASHAD FLOYD, Dallas' COLSTON WEATHERINGTON, Philadelphia's EDDIE MOTEN and San Jose's CLEVAN THOMAS.
