
Columbus Destroyers Sign Defensive Lineman Mondre Dickerson

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Destroyers, presented by Germain, have signed defensive lineman Mondre Dickerson, activated wide receiver Matt Thomas from the practice squad and placed defensive back Rober' Freeman and offensive lineman Cody Douglas on injured reserve , Head Coach Doug Kay announced today.
Dickerson (6-5, 315, Tennessee) is expected to make his 2008 debut Sunday afternoon when the Destroyers take on the New York Dragons. Before attending the 2008 Destroyers training camp, he spent the 2006 season with the Tampa Bay Storm and last season with the Grand Rapids Rampage. In 22 career games, he has accumulated 16.0 tackles (12UT-8AT) and one tackle for loss.
Thomas (6-1, 185, South Carolina) made his Destroyers debut on March 15 against the Cleveland Gladiators and caught three passes for 22 yards. For his AFL career, he has hauled in 12 passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns.
The Destroyers return to action on Sunday, Apr. 13 as they travel to take on the New York Dragons. Kickoff at Nassau Coliseum, in Uniondale, N.Y., is set for 3 p.m. (ET). The game will broadcast live on the Destroyers Radio Network and flagship station "The Wink" 107.1 FM with Todd Walker (play-by-play) and Archie (color commentator) calling the action.
Monday, April 21, is Nationwide Night "White Out" T-Shirt Night. The first 12,000 fans in attendance will receive a T-shirt compliments of Nationwide. The Pro Football Hall of Fame will display items on the Pepsi Parkway. The game between the Destroyers and the Philadelphia Soul will be shown to a national viewing audience on Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday Night on ESPN2 (HD). Fans can also purchase tickets for All You Can Eat Night. The all-you-can-eat package includes hot dogs, bratwurst, popcorn, peanuts and any 22-ounce Pepsi product, for only $30.
