
Tampa Bay Storm Tweaks Roster

TAMPA - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm have activated defensive lineman Nyle Wiren, offensive lineman Emmanual Akah and linebacker Terrance Royal from injured reserve announced Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum. The team also placed lineman Ernest Certain on injured reserve and waived defensive back Daryon Brutely.
Wiren, 6-foot-2, 260-pounds, is in his 11th season with the Tampa Bay Storm. He will make his 2008 debut this Sunday against the Arizona Rattlers after recovering from an injured shoulder. Wiren, third in franchise history with 16 sacks, will add veteran leadership to the defensive side of the ball. He appeared in 4 games in 2007 and finished with seven tackles and two interceptions.
Akah, 6-3, 330 pounds, will make his Arena Football debut this Sunday. The London, England native began his professional career with the London Olympians in the British American Football League. Akah spent the past two seasons (2006-07) in NFL Europa and won a World Bowl Championship with the Frankfurt Galaxy in 2006.
Royal, 6-3, 270 will also make his AFL debut. The Tampa native prepped at Wharton High School (Tampa, FL) and played collegiately at the University of South Florida. The Former USF Bull once owned the school single-season (10) and career sack record (19.5).
Certain, 6-4, 285, played in each of Tampa Bay's first five games. He will spend a minimum of four games on injured reserve as he recovers from a back injury. Certain has recorded 1.5 tackles and one pass break up this season.
