Crew SC is 14-24-15 all-time against the Fire, with a mark of 5-14-8 in Chicago. Over the Black & Gold's last four meetings with Chicago, Columbus is 2-0-2, including a 1-1 draw at Toyota Park on August 2, 2014 in Crew SC's last visit to Bridgeview. This contest is the second of three between the clubs this year, with the Fire coming to MAPFRE Stadium on Sunday, July 19 in a nationally televised rematch (5:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, TSN2, CD102.5 FM, 103.1 FM La Mega). Earlier this season, Crew SC drew against Chicago by a 2-2 final at MAPFRE Stadium with Kei Kamara notching a brace for the Black & Gold.
In Crew SC's last match, on Saturday, July 11 at Montreal, Captain and defender Michael Parkhurst made his 50th start for the club since joining ahead of the 2014 campaign. Parkhurst is tied with teammate Kei Kamara with 165 career MLS regular-season starts, a total that ties the duo for 39th among all active League players. Additionally, Vice-Captain and midfielder Wil Trapp played 45 minutes in Quebec, the most he has played since returning from injury on June 30 at Orlando in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. His next regular-season appearance would be his 50th for Crew SC.
Forward Kei Kamara continues to lead MLS in goal-scoring with 12, one ahead of Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco. Kamara also ranks second in the League in total shots (81) and is third in shots on goal (32). Meanwhile, Ethan Finlay leads MLS in assists (10), one ahead of Sporting Kansas City's Benny Feilhaber and Philadelphia's Cristian Maidana. Kamara and Finlay's combined goals and assists (32) are seven more than the next-best club's duo (Toronto FC: Giovinco and Jozy Altidore, 25 combined goals and assists).
