Martinsville, VA - The Columbia Blowfish (17-22; 8-3) beat the Martinsville Mustangs (16-23; 4-7) 4-2 in Martinsville.
The Columbia Blowfish got on the board first as a called third strike to JD Crowe Francis Marion) was dropped and the inning would continue with two outs. Two batters later Reed Rolhman hit a 3 RBI triple down the right field line to give the Blowfish the only lead they would need.
The Blowfish tacked on a run in the fourth inning.
Martinsville would counter with runs in the 5th and 6th innings but would come up short in the 9th inning when they had two runners on.
Josh Reagan (South Carolina) was the Blowfish player of the game as he got the win, going 6 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, while striking out 6 in the process.
Reed Rohlman (Clemson) led the Blowfish offense going 1-4 with a 3RBI triple to right to put the Blowfish on the board first.
Martinsville starting pitcher Ryan Swearinger (West Chester) pitched strong in his outing with 6 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work.
Charley Gould (William & Mary) and Eric Lowe (Villanova) led the Martinsville offense going 3-5.
The Columbia Blowfish next play at home tomorrow night against the Asheboro Copperheads. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
