COLUMBIA, SC - The Columbia Blowfish (20-25) offense erupted for 10 runs as they beat the Wilson Tobs (22-22) 10-2 at Historical Capitol City Stadium.
Blowfish player of the game is pitcher Josh Reagan (South Carolina) who threw 7 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit, while striking out 7, and only threw 85 pitches.
Eric Barber (Central Florida) and Michael Bell (Georgia) both went 3-4 with an RBI to help lead the Blowfish offense.
The Blowfish got on the board early as they scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd and they added a run in both the 4th and 5th innings.
In the 7th inning the Blowfish blasted 6 runs across on 4 hits as 12 batters came to the plate. It would take 3 Tobs pitchers to get out of the 7th inning.
Wilson broke up the shutout with 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning.
Julio Valdez (Alabama State) started the game for Wilson, throwing 5innigs, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits.
Seth LaRue (Campell) came off the bench to provide the lone spark going 1-1 with a double and 2 RBIs.
The Columbia Blowfish play again tomorrow night against the Florence RedWolves. First Pitch set for 7:05 P.M.
