Pallares Homers And Gets Save Against Hi-Toms

FOREST CITY- Eric Cheray hit a two-run homerun, Nick Neitzel threw 8 and two third innings and the Forest City Owls beat the Gastonia Grizzlies 10-3 Tuesday night in Forest City.

Joey Hawkins added a three RBI double in part of the seven run third inning for the Owls, who snapped a four game losing streak.

Neitzel allowed three runs on three hits and struck out six in his longest outing of the season, Rob Thomas replaced him to get the final out.

The Owls big third inning started with RBI singles from Steven Pallares and Danny Sheehan, before Hawkins three-run double and Cheray's homerun.

The Owls tacked on three more in the fourth with an RBI each from Pallares, Hunter Bryant, and Conor Clancey.

Gastonia only had one hit before the ninth inning, a lead-off single by catcher Chris Robinson.

Weston Lawing had a two-RBI single and Joe Koehler an RBI single in the ninth to get the Grizzles on the scoreboard.

The Owls will go on the road for two games to face the HP-Thomasville Hi-Toms tomorrow night and the Asheboro Copperheads on Thursday before returning home against the Fayetteville Swampdogs Friday night.

Friday night will be teacher appreciation night, all teachers get a free ticket.

The final baseball card set will also be given out Friday night.
