Colts Win Wild One

San Angelo Colts News Release


Amarillo, Texas--- The Colts started with a bang, that boom was a two run homer from Jason Landreth his first of the season and Colts were up 2-0, which was just the beginning for Landreth. The Dillas countered with one in the bottom of the first but San Angelo was at again scoring two more the next in when they received back to back RBI doubles from John Wagle and Jason Landreth and it was 4-1 San Angelo. The Colts doubled their pleasure with four in the third inning highlighted by a two run homer by Mike Pettibone and an ejection of Dillas Manager Brady Bogart who argued the strike zone and the Colts were up a commanding 8-1.

The Colts added a run in the top of the fifth, and then Amarillo would start off the bottom of the fifth with three straight hits that would lead to three runs and make it a 9-4 game. The Dillas added another run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 9-5 as Amarillo moved a little closer. The Colts scored three times in the seventh and the Dillas added a run in the bottom of the inning to make it 12-6 Colts. Amarillo scored in four straight innings to make it interesting including having the tying runs on second and third in the bottom of the ninth but San Angelo hangs on for a 13-11 win, splitting the four game series.

In this game Jason Landreth went 5 for 6 with four doubles, a homerun and drove in three. Also Colts right fielder Adam Hale was ejected from the game. On Wednesday the Colts return home to Foster Field and take on the Coastal Bend Thunder for the first time this season to start a four game set. The Colts will send out righty Brian Henschel against a pitcher yet to be determined for the Thunder. Game one begins with the Kemps pre-game show beginning at 6:50 and the first pitch at 7:05 on 1260 KKSA.
