San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas --- The Colts slammed four home runs en route to a 10-8 victory over the Abilene Prairie Dogs Tuesday night at Foster Field. The two clubs combined for seven homers.

Centerfielder Ronnie Gaines, third baseman Jason Crosland, catcher Josh Banda and left fielder Jamar Walton all homered for the Colts. Walton's two-run shot proved to be the game winner.

Tied at eight entering the bottom of the eighth, Jamar Walton worked a 3-0 count before crushing a home run over the scoreboard in right-centerfield. Walton's second homer of the year scored Crosland, who led the inning off with an infield single. The home run also gave the Colts their only lead of the game.

The Prairie Dogs led 7-4 entering the sixth, but Banda's three-run homer tied the game. It also began a stretch in which the Colts outscored Abilene 6-1 to finish the night.

Abilene reliever Jeremy Tietze (0-1) surrendered Walton's homer, and took the loss. Prairie Dogs starter Billy Petrick allowed four runs on six hits in five innings for the no decision.

Colts' reliever Mike Hart (1-0) earned the win, pitching two scoreless innings. Closer Erik Draxton then pitched a perfect ninth to collect his sixth save.

The win improves the Colts to 12-13, while the loss drops Abilene to 11-14. This three-game home and home series concludes Wednesday evening at Walt Driggers Field in Abilene. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m., and the game can be heard on KKSA beginning at 6:50 p.m.

The next Colts' home game is Thursday against Abilene. It will be another $1 Beer Night at Foster Field, sponsored by Miller Lite. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and gates open at 6:05 p.m.
