Colts Sign Ben Pickell

The Barrie Colts are happy to announce the signing of 2021 Third Round Selection, Ben Pickell!

The 5-9 and 170lb forward from Courtice, ON was drafted by the Colts in 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft 55th overall in the third round.

Pickell has been playing in the OJHL for the Pickering Panthers where he has registered 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in 32 games played. Pickell was drafted from the Clarington Toros Minor Hockey Association where he compiled a team-high 58 points (24 goals, 32 assists) in 46 games of U15. Ben registered a career high three points (two goals, 1 assist) on Oct. 26th, 2021 in the Panthers 9-6 victory against the Oakville Rangers.

"Ben had a strong training camp for us in September and left us impressed. We have been following his progress in Pickering and have been very happy with his development. While he is one of the younger players on the ice, he is always one of the more competitive players and can put up points We believe Ben will be a big part of the Colts future and we are excited to welcome him to the team." Pickell will be wearing #12 in the Colts uniform.
