Colts Name Assistant Coaches

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts today announced that Gregg Carrigan and Steve Cooke have been named Assistant Coaches.
Carrigan, 55, rejoins the Colts after he spent the 2005-06 season as the Director of Hockey Operations and Assistant Coach. He originally joined the club in 2004-05 as the Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager. The team compiled a 43-21-1-3 record and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals while Carrigan served as the Director of Hockey Operations and Assistant Coach during the 2005-06 season. From 1990 to 2004, Carrigan served under various management and coaching capacities in the Provincial Junior A League. He currently resides in Barrie, ON with his wife Karen.
Cooke, 40, will move into the assistant role after he served as the Video Coach for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. Prior to this, Cooke was the Head Coach for the Wexford Raiders Jr. A team for the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. He led the 2004-05 team to the regular season title for the Jr. A South Division with a 37-5-5-2 overall record. Cooke's coaching experience spans back to 1992, and has served at various coaching and teaching capacities throughout Toronto and the United States. He currently resides in Coldwater, ON with his wife Tracey.
"We are pleased to have Gregg re-join the hockey club," stated Head Coach Marty Williamson. "His experience, knowledge and leadership are paramount, and we are excited to have him back. Steve Cooke has been in a supporting role the past few seasons, and he is more than ready to take on this new experience. He already has vast knowledge of our team and the league, and he will be a welcome addition to the coaching staff."
