
Colts Crush Abilene in Shortened Game

San Angelo, Texas --- San Angelo's bats came alive just before the lightning storm Wednesday night at Foster Field. The Colts defeated the Abilene Prairie Dogs, 10-2, in a lightning-shortened contest, scoring five runs in their last time up to bat.
Third baseman Ryan Hutson, catcher Michael Pair, centerfielder Ronnie Gaines, second baseman Jason Diaz and first baseman Daryl Jones all scored in the five-run sixth. Pair, Jones, shortstop Landon Camp and designated hitter Cory Patton were responsible for driving in the runs.
Prior to the big inning, Patton and Camp both hit two-run homers. Patton's came in the fourth, and it was his third home run of the year. Camp hit his in the fifth, and it was his team-best ninth.
Colts' starter Logan Williamson (7-1) earned the win. He gave up two runs, one earned, on seven hits in six innings. Williamson also walked five and struck out six.
Former Major Leaguer Billy Petrick (4-2) took the loss for Abilene. Petrick allowed five runs on nine hits, including the two homers, in five innings.
The Colts have now won three in a row and are 29-30. Abilene, meanwhile, is on a four-game losing streak and is 22-35 on the year.
This series continues Thursday with $1 Beer Night, sponsored by Miller Lite. There will be live music at the beer garden immediately after the conclusion of the game. Gates open at 6:05 p.m., and first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Colts are a member of United League Baseball who are in their 13th season. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the Colts' front office at Foster Field.
