Barrie Colts News Release
Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that the club has set new franchise records in both wins and points in a season.
Barrie defeated Sudbury Tuesday night and set a new franchise record with their 106th point. With six games remaining the Colts could finish with 118 points, which would be the second best point total of all-time in the Ontario Hockey League.
Barrie has 52 wins on the season, three more than their previous best of 49 which was set back in 1998-99. Should the Colts win the rest of their games they will finish with the second most wins in OHL history.
Barrie is currently tied for third in OHL history with 25 road wins and can tie London for first overall with 28 should they win their remaining three road games.
Also in the hunt for a Barrie Colts franchise record is Bryan Cameron who has 49 goals. Sheldon Keefe has the Colts all-time record with 51, though 37 of them were scored while he was with Mississauga.
Cameron will try to notch number 50 when the Colts host his former team the Belleville Bulls at the Barrie Molson Centre Thursday night.
