
Spirit Standings Update: Spirit Set To Make Fifth Consecutive Appearance In Post Season

(Saginaw, MI) Experience the intensity as the Spirit race towards the playoffs, presented by your local Meijer Stores in partnership with Better Made, Nabisco and Pepsi! The Spirit clinched a berth in the 2010 OHL Playoffs following their 6-3 victory over the Plymouth Whalers Tuesday afternoon, to mark their fifth consecutive playoff appearance in their eight seasons in Saginaw.
The team is currently sitting in sixth place in the OHL Western Conference with 70 points and a record of 32-25-4-2.
Wednesday night features two OHL Western Conference match-ups, with the Guelph Storm visiting the Erie Otters and the London Knights visiting the Owen Sound Attack. The OHL Western Conference Rankings entering the morning of Wednesday, March 3 are as follows:

The eight top ranked teams from each conference make the OHL playoffs, with the top ranked team being seeded against the lowest ranked qualifying team and so on (first seed versus eighth seed, second seed versus seven seed, etc). Playoff series are played as a best-of-seven series.
