
Colorado Rapids Statement Regarding Today's Terrorist Attack in Madrid

DENVER, CO (03-11-04)- Colorado Rapids General Manager Dan Counce released today the following statement via telephone from the city of Antequera, Spain where the team is currently participating in the third and final leg of their 2004 preseason tour.
"The Colorado Rapids are deeply disturbed by the events that took place today in the city of Madrid," said Counce. "Even thought our club is physically far away from the site of the atrocities, we can feel and share the pain of the Spanish people. We want to offer the most sincere condolences to the victims of this tragedy."
The team's training camp in Antequera, is located approximately 350 miles south of the Spanish Capital of Madrid. As of this morning, the team had left for their friendly match against Malaga as scheduled and is expected to continue with the rest of their itinerary before returning to Colorado on Wednesday, March 18.
