Colorado Rapids News Release
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, May 28, 2010) - The Colorado Rapids announced today that the Colorado EDGE Youth Soccer Club have joined the Rapids adidas Alliance.
Launched in June of 2009, the Rapids adidas Alliance is one of the most integrated partnerships in American youth soccer.
"We are very excited to have the Colorado EDGE join our Rapids adidas Alliance," said Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo. "The EDGE are a very respected club with 40 years of experience developing youth players in the Northwest Denver Metro Area. We know that the EDGE have the ideals and development philosophy that fit perfectly into the goals of the Alliance, and we look forward to positively impacting the youth players of Arvada with this relationship."
"The EDGE Soccer Club are excited about teaming up with the Colorado Rapids and their adidas Alliance," said Dr. Randy Snyder, President of the EDGE Soccer Club and Arvada Soccer Association. "The EDGE strive to provide the best facilities and training in the state. We feel that this partnership will only enhance our players' and coaches' abilities to be the very best. We hope for a long and mutually beneficial relationship."
The Rapids adidas Alliance was established to create a working relationship between existing clubs that benefits soccer development of boys and girls alike through shared resources and encouraging players to stay in their home clubs in the U11-U14 age groups. Those players have direct access to the Rapids U16/U18 Development Academy teams through visible scouting and direct coaching and curriculum ties.
Rapids adidas Alliance clubs also have exclusive access to on-field and in-stadium educational events with the Colorado Rapids.
