THE GAME:

The Colorado Crush travel to New York for the second of back-to-back road games when they face the Dragons on Sunday, April 15 at 11:00 a.m. MT. Colorado has yet to find the win column against New York with all three games in the team's series history being played at Nassau Coliseum.

Following a 44-72 defeat at the hands of the San Jose SaberCats last Friday, the Crush will look to rebound from a loss with a win for the third time this season.

Since head coach Mike Dailey's arrival to Colorado in 2004, the Crush have only suffered two losing streaks, a three-game slide in 2005 and a two-game streak in 2006.

A bit of AFL history will also take place when Colorado takes the field on Sunday afternoon. Lineman and 13-year veteran Kyle Moore-Brown will be suiting up for his league record 200th consecutive Arena Football game. A true AFL Ironman, Moore-Brown has never missed a game. He has appeared in 180 regular season games and 19 playoff contests.

The New York Dragons are riding a two-game losing skid after falling to the Grand Rapids Rampage 53-66 last week. Colorado will be the third team hailing from the Central Division that New York has played this

season (also Grand Rapids and

Chicago), while the Dragons have gone 0-2 in those contests.

New York is led by WR Mike Horacek, who ranks in the AFL's top 6 in both receiving yards (654) and receiving touchdowns (14). Following an early season quarterback change, rookie Rohan Davey has assumed the starting position for the club's last four games. Davey, a former fourth round draft choice of the New England Patriots, has completed 110-of-173 passes for 1,375 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions on the year. Over his last two games, Davey has thrown for 300+ yards and 7+ touchdowns.

HEAD COACHES:

MIKE DAILIEY, Colorado (102-67, 11th Year): Mike Dailey enters his fourth season in Colorado and 11th as head coach in the AFL, after becoming the Crush's second head coach on June 26, 2003. Dailey joined the Crush following 13 seasons in the Albany/Indiana Firebirds organization, including the final seven as head coach.

One of the most successful and well-respected coaches in AFL history, Dailey's teams have compiled an overall record of 102-67 record, a winning percentage of 60.4. His teams have also made eight postseason appearances and he has won five division titles and two championships. Following the Crush's 44-40 victory over Kansas City on March 10, 2007, Dailey became only the fourth head coach in AFL history to surpass the 100 win mark. He currently stands as the league fourth all-time winningest coach.

In his first season in Colorado, Dailey helped guide the Crush to the largest turnaround in AFL history, inheriting a 2-14 team and leading them to an 11-5 record in 2004. In 1999, Dailey led the Albany Firebirds to their only ArenaBowl championship and was named AFL Coach of the Year. Before being named head coach of the Firebirds in 1997, Dailey served as an assistant in Albany for five seasons.

Dailey began his AFL coaching career with the Washington Commandos where he served as offensive/defensive line coach in 1990. He joined the Firebirds organization in the same capacity in 1991.

Prior to the AFL, Dailey worked as an assistant coach at Towson State University and was the offensive coordinator at Montgomery College-Rockville (Md.). Dailey got his start in coaching in 1981 as a 22-year-old assistant at Georgetown Prep High School in Rockville, Md. The move to coaching followed a semi-pro football career in the Washington D.C. area.

WEYLAN HARDING, New York (21-18, 3rd Year): Weylan Harding is in his third season as the head coach of the New York Dragons of the Arena Football League. As Dragons head coach, Harding oversees all aspects of the franchise's football operations.

Last season, Harding led the Dragons to their second consecutive 10-6 record and a berth in the Arena Football League playoffs. The 20 wins compiled by Harding in his first two seasons as a head coach set a new standard for the AFL, which is in its 21st season.

After missing the playoffs in 2004 under a previous coaching regime, the Dragons have been revitalized under Harding and his staff, qualifying for the postseason in 2005 and 2006.

In his rookie season in 2005, Harding took the Dragons to the Eastern Division Championship with a 10-6 record. He was also a runner up for Coach of the Year honors and mentored All-Arena and All-Rookie sensation DS Billy Parker. Running the Dragons' defense, Harding's defensive backs led the league in interceptions with 28.

Before joining the Dragons in August 2005, Harding spent the previous three seasons as the Columbus/Buffalo franchise's defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. After his career as an AFL player concluded, Harding took his first coaching assignment with the Destroyers as their defensive backs coach for the 2000 season. The following season he mentored the defensive backs for the Rochester Brigade of arenafootball2. The Destroyers brought Harding back as their defensive coordinator in 2002. In 2003 the Destroyers' defense finished as the top-ranked unit in the AFL, allowing only 219.1 yards per game. His unit also finished second in the league in total defense with 238.5 yards per game, four in scoring defense with 46.9 yards per game and fourth in team interceptions with 21. He made the move with the franchise to Columbus for the 2004 season.

As a player, Harding was a defensive specialist for the Iowa Barnstormers - now the Dragons - Nashville and Portland before retiring as a player with Buffalo in 2000.

Harding had a standout collegiate career at Iowa State University where he was a key component to their defensive unit in the early '90s. At Iowa State, Harding majored in English.

LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET:

UNIONDALE (5/21/05) - New York outscored the Crush 35-0 in a span extending from the second quarter to the fourth, pulling away for a 62-28 regular-season ending rout of Colorado at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday Night.

Both the Crush and Dragons had clinched division championships, and they end the regular season with identical 10-6 records. Colorado lost a chance to claim the American Conference's No. 1 seed in the postseason, but clinched a first-round home play-off game last week.

The Crush 28-point total was the team's lowest of the season. Colorado used a first play recovery of an Aaron Garcia Fumble to take an early 7-0 lead, and then maintained the upper hand throughout the first half as the teams exchanged scores. But after Colorado claimed a 21-14 lead on a Kevin McKenzie touchdown, things fell rapidly apart for the Crush.

After New York's Sir Mawn Wilson - a former member of the Denver Broncos-scored to knot the contest at 21- apiece, the Dragons stopped the Crush on three consecutive plays inside the New York 5-yard-line, forcing Colorado to settle for a 21- yard field goal that missed wide left. Two plays later Garcia found Will Holder for a 31- yard touchdown pass to give the Dragons the lead for good; it was the first of five straight touchdowns before the Crush finally scored again.

CRUSH LAST WEEK:

SAN JOSE (4/6/07) - San Jose QB Mark Grieb and the SaberCats were the picture of efficiency in handing the Colorado Crush their third lost of the season with a 72-44 victory Friday night. Greib, who was named the contest's Offensive Player of the Game, completed 33-of-40 passes (83%) for 352 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception. Offensively, the SaberCats scored on 11 of their 14 possessions, including ten straight drives to open the game.

For Colorado, WR Brad Pyatt had his best game of the season recording a game-high 188 receiving yards and three touchdowns on seven catches. The Crush defense was paced by DB Rashad Floyd, who entered the game as the AFL's leading tackler, collared 14.5 stops and an interception.

Colorado scored on a 20-yard Jason Ball field goal on the Crush's opening drive to take an early 3-0 lead. San Jose would answer scoring the next 28 straight points to take control of the game and never look back.

The SaberCat defense would do their part as well forcing two Crush interceptions and causing two fumbles as well as two turnovers on downs. QB John Dutton was replaced by rookie Brandon Kirsch to being the fourth quarter for Colorado. Kirsch, in his first AFL action under center, finished the game tossing two touchdowns for 91 yards on 3-of-5 passing with an interception.

THINGS TO WATCH:

YOUNG BLOOD:

The Colorado Crush took the field in Week 1 with four rookies on their active roster. Not since head coach Mike Dailey's arrival to Colorado in 2004 has he had that many first-year players on his Crush active roster to begin a season.

The Crush currently have six rookies on their active roster with four of those players starting.

LOCAL TIES:

This season the Crush have found a lot of good-young talent right in their back yard. Here is a list of players that have Colorado ties:

- DL QUINN DORSEY attended Manual High School in Denver.

- FB/LB ANTHONY DUNN attended Centauri High School in Manassa, CO and later played at the University of Northern Colorado.

- OL BRETT HUYSER played his collegiate football at the Air Force Academy.

- WR BRAD PYATT has played football at all three levels of his career in Colorado (Arvada West High School, Northern Colorado and the Crush).

BUILDING A WINNING TRADITION:

The Crush are the winningest team in the AFL regular season since head coach Mike Dailey's arrival, having tied for the league's best record in 2004 (11-5) and finishing with the American Conference's top seed in 2005 (10-6) and 2006 (11-5).

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH:

After finishing their inaugural season 0-8 at home, the Crush are now 24-6 under Mike Dailey (2-1 in the postseason) at Pepsi Center. Two of the six losses consist of a field goal in overtime (42-45) vs. Indiana in 2004 and a 51-48 Chicago win in 2005 on a field goal with three seconds remaining.

LET'S MAKE IT THREE:

Last season, Colorado was the only team to repeat as a division champion. This year, they'll look to become the first team since the New York Dragons (2003-2005) to repeat as divisional champions in three consecutive seasons.

STEEL CURTAIN:

After allowing 14 sacks in 2003 (12 on Dutton), the Crush pass protection has been stellar under head coach Mike Dailey.

The team allowed just four sacks in 2004, and none after Week 6. In 2005, Colorado allowed just six sacks, while holding 10 opponents sackless on the year.

Since 2004, the Crush have allowed just 17 sacks in their last 45 regular season games (total of 2,145 plays).

WHAT A RUSH:

Through five weeks of the 2007 season, FB/LB Robert Thomas has made a huge impact in the Crush's ground attack.

Thomas is currently tied with Willis Marshall for the Crush single-season rushing touchdown record with seven. Thomas is also tied with John Peaua for fifth all-time in Colorado career rushing scores.
