Colonials Win Streak Snapped at Five in 6-2 Loss to NJ

Little Falls, NJ - The Pittsfield Colonials had their winning streak halted at five games, losing to the New Jersey Jackals at Yogi Berra Stadium on Monday Night.

Colonials starting pitcher Patrick Moran (4-2) suffered the loss going six innings and allowing three runs on seven hits. Reliever Reymond Cruz was hit for three runs on four hits in one-third out of the bullpen.

Jackals' starter Jayson Miller (3-4) earned the win over seven shut-out innings, allowing six hits while fanning four. Relievers Edgar Estanga and Mike Pontius each delivered an inning out of the bullpen to finish the game for the Jackals.

New Jersey second baseman Travis Jones (1-for-3, HR) and right fielder Kevin Clark (1-for-4, HR) hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning for the winners. Third baseman Abraham Nunez (3-for-4, 2B, RBI) picked-up three hits to go along with an RBI sacrifice fly in the game. Catcher Angel Flores (1-for-4, 2B, RBI) chipped in with an RBI double.

The Colonials will play game two of the series with the Jackals on Tuesday night at 7:05pm when righty Miguel Flores (8-4) goes head-to-head with New Jersey's Isaac Pavlik (7-5).
