Colonials Drop Day Game 11-7

Brockton, MA - The Pittsfield Colonials were upended 11-7 by the Brockton Rox, who used a seven run fourth inning to best Pittsfield at Campanelli Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Colonials' starter Trevor Marcotte (2-3) suffered the loss going three and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits, four walks, and one strike-out. Reliever Corey Shepherd gave up three runs out of the bullpen as a part of a seven run assault in the fourth inning by Brockton.

Pittsfield shortstop Matt Nandin (2-for-5 2B, HR, 2 RBI) belted a solo home run and doubled for the Colonials while catcher Chris Torres (1-for-2, HR) also smacked a long-ball, his first of the season.

Rox starting pitcher Wayne Lundgren (6-2) earned the victory over six innings of work, giving-up three runs on five hits, four walks, and four strike-outs.

Brockton designated hitter Clyde Williams (1-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) and left fielder Mike Conroy (2-for-4, HR, 4 RBI) each slugged three run homers in the game to pace the offense for the winners.

The Colonials will wrap-up the three game series at Brockton's Campanelli Stadium on Tuesday at 12:05pm. Scheduled to start for Pittsfield is right-hander Trevor Marcotte (2-2). He'll go against Brockton's Wayne Lundgren (5-2).
