Brockton 11, Pittsfield 7
The Brockton Rox broke open a close game with a seven-run fourth inning and cruised to an 11-7 win over the Pittsfield Colonials. LF Mike Conroy led the Rox offense going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI. The home run by Conroy was his second of the season. CF Chris Valencia and 2B Scott Wearne each had two-hit games as well for Brockton. Rox starting pitcher Wayne Lundgren won his sixth game of the season as he allowed three earned runs on five hits in six innings of work. SS Matt Nandin went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI for Pittsfield in the loss.
Quebec at Worcester
The game between Quebec and Worcester was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, July 14, beginning at 11 a.m.
Sussex 12, New Jersey 4
Sussex DH Caleb Stewart finished a home run short of the cycle in a monster game offensively to lead the Skyhawks to a 12-4 win over New Jersey on the road. Stewart was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored and five RBI to lead all hitters. 1B Kris Sanchez also had a good game, going 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and a pair of RBI. Sussex starting pitcher Jeff Icenogle was the beneficiary of the run support, allowing four runs on five hits over five innings of work to earn the win and improve his record to 4-1 on the season.
