The Colonials broke the game open in the fourth inning as the first six batters reached base. A combination of walks with one hit batsman and a single had the score a 5-1 with runners on the corners when Johnny Welch hit his second homer of the game, his 15th of the season to push the lead to 8-1.
New York would score a run in the top of the sixth inning on a Mike Castellano single, scoring Sandy DeLeon to cut the lead to 8-2. Pittsfield got the run back in the bottom of the seventh on a Jerod Edmondson RBI single to score Chris Torres.
The Federals brought home a run in the eighth on a Tom Maloney homer. The Colonials tallied the final runs in the eighth on a double from Angel Molina scoring Johnny Welch and a single from Scott Knazek bringing home Danny Bomback to make the score 11-3.
