Pittsfield Colonials News Release

Quebec City, QC - The Pittsfield Colonials saw the Quebec Capitales rally for seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to erase a 6-5 Pittsfield lead and eventually win 12-7 at Stade Municipal in Quebec City on Thursday night.

Pittsfield starter David Qulaben was tabbed with a no-decision after six-plus innings of work, allowing six runs on seven hits, six walks, and two strike-outs. Reliever Chris Rollins (1-1) took the loss and allowed five runs in just one-third of an inning out of the bullpen also absorbing some of the Quebec damage.

Capitales' starting pitcher Matthew Rusch also took a no-decision after conceding five runs on five hits over five innings. Reliever Sean Gregory (3-2) earned the win allowing one run in two innings of work out of the bullpen for Quebec.

Colonials' second baseman Danny Bomback (2-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI) led the Pittsfield offense with a double and three RBIs in the game. Right fielder Dan Carte (1-for-3, 2 RBI) drove in a pair and extended his hitting streak to 15 consecutive games, the longest streak of any play in the league this season.

Quebec was powered by designated hitter Jeremy Hunt (3-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) who notched three hits including his first homer of the season, while teammates Josh Colafemina (3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI), Jared Lemieux (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI), Anthony Cros (1-for-5, 2 RBI), and Ivan Naccarata (1-for-5, 2 RBI) each also had two-RBI games.

The Colonials continue the four game series with Quebec on Friday night, at 7:05pm, from Stade Municipal in Quebec City when right-handed starter Kyle Zaleski (2-1) takes the mound against Quebec's Andy Schon (1-0).
