Pittsfield Colonials News Release

Pittsfield, MA - The Pittsfield Colonials and Brockton Rox saw their game suspended with one out in the eighth inning due to a light tower malfunction at Wahconah Park on Monday night; the Rox were leading 13-9. The game will be continued prior to the Colonials and Rox scheduled game in Brockton on July 11th at Campanelli Stadium.

Colonials' starting pitcher Matt Paradoski lasted just one and one-third innings giving-up four runs (three earned) on five hits, one walk, and no strike-outs. The Pittsfield bullpen yielded nine runs on eleven hits in relief of Paradoski. Chris Torres was left on the mound when the lights malfunctioned.

Colonials' right fielder Dan Carte (2-for-5, HR, 3 RBI) extended his hitting streak to a league high 15 consecutive games with his fifth home run of the season. Left fielder Rafael Cabreja (2-for-2, 2B, 2BB, RBI) doubled and drove in a run for the home side, while third baseman Danny Bomback (1-for-3, 2 RBI) drove in a pair.

Brockton starter Mike Smith went five innings of work allowing six runs on eight hits, three walks, and three strike-outs. Brad Hertzler was on the mound for Brockton when the game was stopped.

The Rox offense was led by shortstop Dominic Ramos (3-for-4, 3B, 3 RBI) who tripled and drove in three runs for Brockton. First baseman Clyde Williams (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) belted his second home run of the season, a three-run shot, and also saw teammates Scott Wearne (1-for-3, HR, 2R) and Phillip Cuadrado (2-for-5, HR, 2 RBI) leave the yard with solo homers.

The Colonials travel to Quebec City to square-off with the Capitales in a four game series at Stade Municipal starting at 7:05pm on Thursday night. David Qualben (1-3) is scheduled to start for the Colonials.
