
Collins Named Player of the Month

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - Chad Collins of the Fayetteville FireAntz, yesterday, was named the Sher-wood Player of the Month in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) for March. He becomes the second consecutive FireAntz player to win the award, joining league MVP Rob Sich, who won the award in February.
The Guelph, Ontario native compiled a 6-1-0 record for the month and had a 2.16 goals against average with a .918 save percentage.
Collins finished a strong third season with the FireAntz compiling a 27-12-5 record to lead all SPHL goaltenders in victories for the 2006-07 season. He also had a 3.34 goals against average and a .897 save percentage.
Collins has gotten stronger as the season has gone along. Since late January he has posted an 18-4-1 record and is playing his best hockey, of the season, leading into the playoffs.
The FireAntz will be hosting Game 1 of the first-round series versus the Huntsville Havoc on Friday, March 30th at 7:30 pm at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville. Great seats still remain. Fans may purchase tickets from the Crown box office or by calling Ticketmaster at (910) 223-2900.
