College Park Skyhawks News Release
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - The College Park Skyhawks and CareSource, proud partner and mission-driven Medicaid plan serving more than 450,000 Georgians, today announced plans for the Skyhawks' annual Education Day Game presented by CareSource. This game will take place tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Gateway Center Arena as the Skyhawks are set to take on the Westchester Knicks. Limited tickets remain and are available at cpskyhawks.com/tickets.
The Skyhawks and CareSource will be hosting students and staff from local schools, with CareSource donating 250 tickets to students and faculty of Atlanta Public Schools. Attendees will receive a themed workbook for the game as well as limited-edition thunder sticks donning the Skyhawks and CareSource logos.
"We are proud to partner with local schools and CareSource to foster a unique learning experience," said Atlanta Hawks Vice President of NBA G League and 2K League Operations Janice Koon. "Our annual Education Day game gives us the opportunity to help develop the future scholars and stars of tomorrow and we are looking forward to having a house packed with a record number of students tomorrow morning."
CareSource will sponsor in-game elements, including a skills challenge at halftime where school administrators will compete for a donation to their school's mental and physical wellness resources from CareSource and the Skyhawks.
"We value our partnership with the Skyhawks and the opportunity to give back to the community," said Jason Bearden, CareSource Georgia president. "Education Day honors the work of the Atlanta Public Schools and allows the CareSource team to show our appreciation to students and teachers."
On September 22, 2023, the Skyhawks and CareSource worked to donate school supplies at West Clayton Elementary, home of the inaugural "Colli's Classroom" initiative with the Skyhawks. All 20 of the school's classrooms were provided with school supplies - more than 4,000 items - from the Skyhawks and CareSource. Miles Norris, a rookie two-way player for the Atlanta Hawks, was joined by Colli Hawk, the Skyhawks mascot, and members of the Skyhawks business team. The CareSource mascot, Cuddles, was also in attendance to provide cheer for children.
