
College Baseball Returns To Trenton

(Trenton, NJ) Mercer County Waterfront Park, the home of the Trenton Thunder, Double A affiliate of the New York Yankees, will host the Mid-Atlantic Regional for the NCAA Division III college baseball tournament on May 19-23. Kean University is the host school for the tournament.
Tickets will be available at the Waterfront Park box office during each day of the tournament. A full schedule will be available on www.d3baseball.com in mid-May.
This year's championship will feature 55 teams (36 Pool A, 4 Pool B, 15 Pool C bids) divided into the eight regional tournaments. Of the eight regional tournaments, three will feature eight teams, one with seven, and four will consist of six teams. All eight regionals are are scheduled to take place May 19-23, 2010 with the winners advancing to the NCAA Division III Championship May 26-June 1 in Grand Chute, Wisconsin.
The Mid-Atlantic region has 60 member schools including: the New Jersey Lions (Ewing, NJ), Drew Rangers (Madison, NJ), FDU-Florham Devils (Madison, NJ), Kean Cougars (Union, NJ), Montclair State Red Hawks (Upper Montclair, NJ), New Jersey City Gothic Knights (Jersey City, NJ), Ramapo Roadrunners (Mahwah, NJ), Richard Stockton Ospreys (Pomona, NJ), Rowan Profs (Glassboro, NJ), Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors (Camden, NJ), Rutgers-Newark Raiders (Newark, NJ), Philadelphia Bible Crimson Eagles (Langhorne, PA) and Delaware Valley Aggies (Doylestown, PA).
The Trenton Thunder and Waterfront Park hosted the MAAC Division I college baseball tournament in 2008 and 2009. Rider University was the host school.

Trenton begins its 2010 season by hosting the Erie Sea Wolves (Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) on Thursday, April 8. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
