
Cole Hanson First Ever New Mexico Ice Wolves Player Named to North American Hockey League's All-South Division Team

The New Mexico Ice Wolves® today announced forward Cole Hanson was named to the North American Hockey League's All-South Division Team becoming the first ever NM Ice Wolves player to be given this honor. The divisional teams and honors represent the four divisions in the NAHL: Central, East, Midwest and South Divisions, as voted upon and selected by the league's 23 head coaches.ÃÂ The awards are based on performance during the 2020-21 regular season.
"Cole had a big year for us after working hard last summer to improve his game ahead of the season," said Phil Fox, NM Ice Wolves head coach. "He took huge steps in his development as a player and as young man to become a go-to player for us this year. All of us, teammates, coaches and fans, are thrilled to see him get this tremendous recognition." ÃÂ
Born in Grand Forks, ND, Hanson played in all but three of the NM Ice Wolves regular season games during the 2020-2021 season which is also the final season in his junior career. For the season, Hanson finished tied for third in league scoring with 60 points in 53 games played. Hanson will play for Colgate University next year in NCAA Division I ice hockey.
