New Mexico United News Release
New Mexico United and the Somos Unidos Foundation are thrilled to announce the signings of Cole Bachuzewski and Miguel Quinones to the New Mexico United Academy roster. The pair of goalkeepers have already begun training with their academy teammates, and are eligible to participate in matches immediately.
"Cole and Miguel will bring excellent talent and leadership to our goal box, and we're excited to welcome them in," said United Academy Head Coach Luke Sanford. "They complete an incredibly talented goalkeeper union at the New Mexico United Academy."
Bachuzewski is a 16-year old Albuquerque-native who plays goalkeeper. His favorite soccer team is Manchester United, and his favorite player is David DeGea. He played his high school soccer at La Cueva, and club soccer at Rio Rapids, Rush, and NMSA. He has won two state titles twice, and was a first-team all state selection. When Cole grows up, he wants to be a small business owner.
Quinones is a 15-year old Albuquerque-native who plays goalkeeper. His favorite soccer team is Liverpool, and his favorite player is Lionel Messi. He played his high school soccer at Cleveland High School, and club soccer at Rio Rapids. When Miguel grows up, he wants to be a pro soccer player.
Cole and Miguel, like every player in New Mexico United's Academy, will be fully scholarshipped into the program. These scholarships include registration, travel, equipment, and coaching costs. No player will have to pay a cent to compete in New Mexico United's academy. These scholarships are made possible through the Somos Unidos Foundation and the generosity of community partners and individuals.
