Coco Blalock named AFL's Army Ironman of the Week

Las Vegas, NV , April 27, 2004 – Las Vegas Gladiators' wide receiver Coco Blalock has been named the Arena Football League's Army Ironman of the Week for his efforts in leading the Gladiators to a 60-34 win over the Detroit Fury on Sunday in Las Vegas.

Blalock, acquired last week off waivers, returned four kickoffs for 140 yards and a touchdown, tallied three receptions for 43 yards with another score and recorded four total tackles on defense.

A three-year veteran of the Arena Football League, this is the first time Blalock has garnered AFL Player of the Week honors.

The Gladiators are back at home this week as they take on Adrian McPherson and the Indiana Firebirds on Sunday at the Thomas & Mack Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM and all the action can be heard on ESPN Radio 920.
