
Los Angeles' Graziani, Orlando's Mc Entyre, Las Vegas's Blalock

NEW YORK â Los Angeles Avengers quarterback TONY GRAZIANI, Orlando Predators defensive specialist KENNY MC ENTYRE and Las Vegas Gladiators wide receiver/defensive back COCO BLALOCK have been named Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player, ADT Defensive Player and U.S. Army Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 12 of the 2004 season.
Graziani (6-2, 215, Oregon), who is in his fourth AFL season, earned Offensive Player of the Week honors by leading the Los Angeles Avengers (7-4) to a 71-35 victory over the AFLWA's No. 3-ranked Chicago Rush (7-4) on Sunday. The Offensive Player of the Year candidate completed 19-of-25 passes for 261 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions. Graziani threw touchdowns to five different receivers, including four to OS CHRIS JACKSON. This marks the third time that the former Duck has earned an AFL weekly honor.
McEntyre (5-11, 185, Kansas State), who is in his seventh season, helped lead the Orlando Predators (6-5) to a 64-49 victory over the Dallas Desperados (6-5) on Sunday. McEntyre, also known as "The Glove", led the Predators with 5.0 total tackles, one pass breakup and two interceptions. With his first interception, McEntyre became the AFL's sole career leader in interceptions breaking a tie with DURWOOD ROQUEMORE (50). The Glove has 52 career interceptions and is tied for the League lead with six (San Jose's OMARR SMITH, 6). This marks the fourth time that the former Wildcat has earned an AFL weekly honor.
Blalock (5-10, 185, Western Illinois) led the Las Vegas Gladiators (4-7) in all facets during their 60-34 victory over the Detroit Fury (4-7) on Sunday. In his first game with the Gladiators since being picked up off waivers, the four-year veteran recorded three receptions for 43 yards and one touchdown on offense. He added four kickoff returns for 140 yards â including a 56-yard touchdown on special teams. On defense, Blalock tallied 4.0 total tackles and helped hold the Fury offense to 34 points â 13 points below their season average. This marks the first time that the former Leatherneck has earned an AFL weekly honor.
Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Sherdrick Bonner, Colorado's Damian Harrell, Las Vegas' Marcus Nash, New Orleans' John Fitzgerald, Orlando's Joe Hamilton, Philadelphia's Todd Hammel, San Jose's Mark Grieb and Tampa Bay's Shane Stafford.
ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Colorado's Rashad Floyd, Indiana's Brett Bech, Las Vegas' Marvin Taylor, Los Angeles' Jason Moore, New Orleans' Monty Montgomery, New York's Jermaine Miles, San Jose's Joe Jacobs and Tampa Bay's Kelvin Kinney.
U.S. Army Ironman of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Randy Gatewood, Austin's Charlie Davidson, Colorado's Willis Marshall, Los Angeles' Kevin Ingram, Orlando's Cory Fleming, Philadelphia's Ricky Ross, San Jose's Rashied Davis and Tampa Bay's T.T. Toliver.
