
Cobras Sign Rookie Defensive Back Brandon Rowland

GREENSBORO - The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of defensive back Brandon Rowland, who will begin his rookie season with the Carolina Cobras.
Brandon Rowland (5'10, 185) played his college career at Charleston Southern University as a defensive back and kick returner where he played from 2015-2018 for the Buccaneers starting in some of the teams biggest games in program history including games against Florida State, Mississippi State, and Florida.
During his senior year he played in all 11 games amassing 76 tackles, 5 pass breakups, 3.5 tackles while adding one interception and one fumble recovery. Rowland finished his career at Charleston Southern with Second Team All-Big South Honors as a defensive back. As a junior, Rowland finished third on the team and 11th overall in the Big South in tackles with 64 tackles while starting in all 11 games for CSU including nine against Kennesaw State. As a sophomore, Rowland played in nine out of ten games that season including action against Florida State where he gained four tackles and returned a kick for 26 yards against the Seminoles. Overall, he finished the season with 23 tackles, one pass breakup, and snagged an interception helping CSU to a FCS first round playoff berth where the Buccaneers lost in a 15-14 nailbiter to Wofford. In his freshman year with Charleston Southern he played in five games, landing five tackles including one in the FCS playoff quarterfinals against Jacksonville State. CSU finished the season 10-3.
Rowland is a native of Irmo, South Carolina where he played for Irmo high school from 2011 to 2014.
