Carolina Cobras News Release

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Arena Football League today announced that Carolina Cobras wide receiver/defensive back Jarrick Hillery has been named the Army Ironman of the Week for his performance in the team's victory over the Tampa Bay Storm on March 21.

A four-year Arena Football League veteran, Hillery (5-10, 200, Tennessee State) returned two kickoffs for a touchdown, including a franchise-record 58-yard return, to spark the Cobras 54-43 win over the defending ArenaBowl champions. He also added three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown as well as four solo tackles and an interception on defense.

"It means a lot to be recognized around the league as a strong two-way player," said Hillery. "While it is an honor, the most important thing is that we got the victory. I am just here to do whatever it takes to help the team win."

The former All-Arena and All-Ironman performer currently stands fifth in the league with 23.5 yards per kickoff return, while also ranking among the team leaders with 16 receptions for 187 yards and 15.0 tackles. This is the third time that Hillery has earned the weekly AFL honor.

Hillery will lead the Cobras into New Orleans Arena this Saturday for a meeting with former Carolina Head Coach Mike Neu and the expansion New Orleans VooDoo. Kickoff is slated for 8:00 p.m. Neu led the Cobras in 2001 and 2002, including the team's last playoff appearance following the 2002 campaign.

Cobras' flex plans and group tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 877-4-COBRAS or visiting www.cobrasfootball.com. Individual game tickets are available at the Charlotte Coliseum box office or at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 704-522-6500.
