Austin's Fontaine, Chicago's McMillen and Carolina's Hillery earn week seven honors

NEW YORK – Austin Wranglers offensive specialist TACOMA FONTAINE, Chicago Rush fullback/linebacker BOB MCMILLEN and Carolina Cobras wide receiver/linebacker JARRICK HILLERY have been named Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player, ADT Defensive Player and U.S. Army Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 7 of the 2004 season.

Fontaine (6-1, 185, Southwest Missouri State) earned Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week by leading the Austin Wranglers (4-2) to a 70-58 victory over the Detroit Fury (2-4) on Thursday. In only his second AFL start, the former All-af2 performer hauled in seven receptions for a team-record 205 yards and five touchdowns. The rookie also returned three kicks for 31 yards giving him 235 all-purpose yards for the game. The victory set an Austin team record for points (70) in a game. This marks the first time that the former Bear has earned an AFL weekly honor.

McMillen (6-3, 260, Illinois Benedictine), who is in his 10th AFL season, led the Chicago Rush (5-1) to a 58-15 victory over the Orlando Predators (2-4) on Sunday. Defensively, he had 3.0 total tackles, a sack, forced and recovered a fumble. McMillen was part of a defense that recorded 7.0 sacks, forced three fumbles and tallied three interceptions in holding the Predators scoreless for nearly 50 minutes (from early in the first quarter until late in the fourth.) Offensively, McMillen added two rushing touchdowns. This marks the fifth time that the two-time All-Arena performer has earned an AFL weekly honor.

Hillery (5-10, 200, Tennessee State), who is in fifth AFL season, helped lead the Carolina Cobras (3-4) to a 54-43 victory over the defending champion Tampa Bay Storm (2-5) on Sunday. The former All-Arena and All-Ironman performer tallied three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown on offense, 4.0 total tackles and an interception late in the fourth quarter on defense, and 137 return yards on three kick returns that included returns of 58-yard and 57-yard for two additional touchdowns. This marks the third time that the former Tiger has earned an AFL weekly honor.

Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Carolina's Jarrick Hillery, Chicago's Jeremy McDaniel, Colorado's Damian Harrell, Indiana's Adrian McPherson, Las Vegas' Marcus Nash, Los Angeles' Tony Graziani, New Orleans' Aaron Bailey and New York's Aaron Garcia.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Austin's Tom Briggs, Carolina's Jack Walker, Chicago's James Baron, Colorado's Rashad Floyd, Indiana's Bill Duff, Los Angeles' Josh Jeffries, New Orleans' Chris Pointer, New York's Terrence Joseph and San Jose's Omarr Smith.

U.S. Army Ironman of the Week candidates included: Chicago's Bob McMillen, Detroit's Carl Bond, Indiana's Jerrod Penright, Los Angeles' Greg Hopkins, New Orleans' Dan Curran, New York's Richmond Flowers, Philadelphia's Chris Ryan and San Jose's Rashied Davis.
