Cobras Expand Ownership Group with John Kane

GREENSBORO, NC - The Carolina Cobras proudly announce today an addition to their growing ownership group with the official agreement to bring on Albany, New York native, long-time arena football supporter, and banking industry professional John Kane. Kane joins the Cobras with over 30 years in the financial industry, Kane's roots in arena football stem all the way back to the Albany Firebirds days (1990-2000), in the Arena Football League.

John and Cobras Majority Owner Rob share mutual interest in the National Arena League, as both have ties with multiple teams as Storm serves as a member of both the Carolina and Jacksonville ownership groups, while Kane is a member of both the Albany ownership group and now Carolina Cobras. In 2021, Kane witnessed the return of the Albany Empire who won their first National Arena League championship in their first season in the league, a similar history to the Cobras who were a dominating 2018 expansion team that won the 2018 National Arena League Championship right here in Greensboro.

Outside of football, John has served the mortgage banking industry for over 33 years. Rising to Regional Manager of Evolve Bank and Trust, a nationwide mortgage lender. Kane has a large family that includes six kids and eight grandchildren who all live in the capital region of Upstate New York. John and his wife Kate Frederick-Kane, who spend their time between their homes in Albany, NY, and Pompano Beach, FL, look forward to being a big part of the Cobras future success. This week the team heads down to Jacksonville, FL for their final game of the regular season and next week will enter their fourth playoff game in four straight seasons.
