
Cobras Dominate Sharks 55-21 in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE- The Carolina Cobras (3-1) travelled to Jacksonville, Florida to take on the Jacksonville Sharks (1-3) for their second meeting. The Cobras pull away with a win this time, tying the series at 1-1 between these two teams.
Quarterback Charles McCullum was 23-of-38 for 265 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. Tyron Laughinghouse made 12 catches for 176 yards and four touchdowns. Fabian Guerra had six catches for 46 yards.
The Cobras were slow to start things, as they fumbled the ball on the first drive of the game. Luckily for Columbus, Defensive Back Michael Green caught an interception, which gave the Cobras the ball at their own one yard line. The game would go back and forth with turnovers until Jacksonville finally scored a touchdown in the second quarter. Sharks Fullback Derrick Ross rushed for a one yard touchdown to put the Sharks up 7-0 with 12:05 to play in the first half. The Cobras quickly responded, missed the PAT, and nailed the deuce, putting the Cobras up by one point 8-7. The first half came to a close with the score being 17-14 after Sharks Quarterback Ryan Walker found Tom Gilson for a four yard touchdown, McCullum finds Tyron Laughinghouse for a 38 yard touchdown with a deuce.
The third quarter got more interesting for both teams since they exchanged touchdowns to make it a 23-21 game. The third quarter ended there after either team couldn't find the end zone. Instantly as the fourth quarter started, Sharks Wide Receiver Antonio Vaughan fumbled the ball and Keith Lewis scoops up the fumble and gives the Cobras the momentum. Toni Pulu also set the tone in the fourth quarter, as he caught an interception and returned it for a nine yard touchdown to make sure the Cobras would win this game. The Sharks never found the end zone for the rest of the night. The Cobras ended the game 55-21.
For the defense, Cedric Poole made eight tackles, one tackle for a loss, and one forced fumble. Michael Green had eight tackles as well, one interception, and one pass breakup. Omari Manhertz had three tackles and two sacks.
