
Clippers Sign Jones to 10-Day Contract

FORT WAYNE, IN (January 14, 2015) -The Los Angeles Clippers announced today that they have signed Fort Wayne Mad Ant's Dahntay Jones to a 10-day contract with the team. Jones has appeared in 19 of the Mad Ant's games this season, including 15 starts, where he has averaged 14.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
Jones, who is a 10 year vet of the NBA, had appeared in 589 games with Memphis, Sacramento, Denver, Indiana, Dallas and Atlanta. He was originally drafted by the Boston Celtics as the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2003 NBA Draft, and was later traded to Memphis where he spent four seasons with the Grizzlies.
As a two year member of the Rutger basketball program, Jones transferred later transferred to Duke for his junior and senior seasons, where he played 68 games with the Blue Devils and achieved Honorable Mention All-American his senior season.
The Mad Ants are currently out in Santa Cruz, California for their January 16th match-up with the Los Angeles D-Fenders at 3:45 p.m. and their Monday, January 19th match-up with the Idaho Stampede at 6:30 p.m.as part of the 2015 NBA D-League Showcase.
