
D-Fenders Dropped by Blue

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Los Angeles D-Fenders fell to the Oklahoma City Blue, 130-126 tonight in Oklahoma City.
Vander Blue scored a season-high 39 points on 11-of-21 FGA's, while grabbing five rebounds and handing out three assists for the D-Fenders (7-16). Jabari Brown followed suit with 33 points, six assists and four rebounds. Roscoe Smith (20 points, nine rebounds), Josiah Turner (11 points, 14 assists) and Zach Andrews (10 points, eight rebounds) all scored in double figures for Los Angeles.
The Blue (12-10) were led by Reggie Williams with 30 points, six assists and four rebounds. Semaj Christon (21 points, eight assists), Grant Jerrett (19 points, eight rebounds), Xavier Alexander (13 points), Talib Zanna (12 points, seven rebounds, four assists), Josh Huestis (11 points, five rebounds) and Richard Solomon (11 points, four rebounds) also reached double digits for Oklahoma City.
Vander Blue paced the D-Fenders throughout, starting with 15 points in the first quarter. Brown added nine for the D-Fenders, who took a 36-34 lead into the second quarter. Williams led the Blue with nine points on the quarter. Oklahoma City picked it up in the second, outscoring the D-Fenders 32-25 and taking a 66-61 lead into halftime. Jerrett was big for the Blue, tallying 10 points in the second quarter. Blue scored eight points and Smith added seven for the D-Fenders. Vander Blue had 23 points at the half to lead all scorers.
Los Angeles was again outscored in the third quarter, 29-25. Huestis scored nine points for the Blue, while Brown and Smith each had seven for the D-Fenders. After three quarters, the D-Fenders trailed the Blue 95-86. Vander Blue recorded 29 points through three, followed by Brown with 22. Williams had 18 through three to lead the Blue. The D-Fenders battled back in the fourth, outscoring the Blue 40-35 and shooting .583 on the quarter. Brown scored 11 and Blue added 10, but the D-Fenders would come up short, 130-126.
The D-Fenders shot .538 from the field, compared to .506 for Oklahoma City. The Blue connected on 12-of-27 three-point attempts, while Los Angeles finished at 7-of-21. The Blue bench outscored the D-Fenders bench 41-19.
The D-Fenders head to Santa Cruz, CA for the NBA-Development League Showcase on Friday, November 16th to face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 12:45 p.m. PT.
