INDIANAPOLIS -- Second baseman Pete Orr and center fielder Ryan Langerhans combined to score four runs as Columbus took home a 6-4 win over Indianapolis in front of 10,624 Wednesday afternoon at Victory Field.
Langerhans (2-for-3, 2 R, 2 RBI) put the Clippers on the board in the first with a two-run homer to right center. He is 6-for-11 with eight runs, two roundtrippers and eight RBI in four games against Indianapolis this season.
Columbus added a run in the third when Orr and 3B Yurendell De Caster smashed back-to-back triples. The three-bagger was Orr's International League-leading seventh of the campaign and pulled him into a tie with Richmond's Barbaro Canizares for the league lead in hits with 32.
The Clippers pulled away with three runs in the sixth. Langerhans started off the inning with a walk and scored his fifth run of the series on a sacrifice fly by LF Jason Dubois. PH Garret Guzman then capped the Clippers' scoring with a two-run triple which brought home 1B Lance Broadway and SS Ed Rogers.
Columbus improves to 13-14 overall and 9-6 on the road, while Indianapolis falls to 13-14 on the season and 8-6 at home.
Clippers RHP Dennis Tankersley (5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO) improved to 1-1 with the win, while Indians RHP Ty Taubenheim (5.2 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO) fell to 2-4 with the loss.
Right handers Marino Salas (1.1 IP, 2 H, 1 SO) and Brian Rogers (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 SO) finished off the game with 3.1 innings of scoreless relief for the Tribe.
Indianapolis CF Andrew McCutchen went 2-for-5 with a run to extend the International League's longest on-base streak to 22 games.
2B Jason Bowers went 2-for-4 and launched a solo homer in the fourth -- his first blast in an Indians uniform. 1B Adam Boeve recorded the Tribes's only other multi-hit performance, going 2-for-3 with an RBI before being lifted for a defensive replacement in the sixth.
Indianapolis returns to the road for an eight-game trip beginning at Norfolk (May 1-4) and finishing at Richmond (May 5-8). Indians RHP Luis Munoz is scheduled to start Thursday's opener at 7:15 p.m., while the Tides have yet to announce a starter.
The contest will be carried by WXLW-950 AM and www.IndyIndians.com with Howard Kellman and Scott McCauley. The pre-game show begins at 6:55 p.m.

Post-game quotes -- INF Jason Bowers
(on his fourth-inning home run)
"(Columbus RHP Dennis) Tankersley was throwing everything away, so that's the pitch I was looking for. I worked the count to 2-1, and was thinking I'd see a fastball over the plate. He made a mistake in, I put a good swing on it and got enough to get it over the left-field wall."
(on the team battling, even when it falls behind)
"All you can do it put together good at-bats, play solid defense and throw strikes. All of us know the game is nine innings long, and you have to play hard for all nine. It's a cliché, but the game is never over until that final out. We've taken that approach to the season, and think it will pay off for us in the long run."
(on the biggest difference between Double-A and Triple-A)
"In my eyes, the biggest difference is the consistency of everyone on the field - both hitters and pitchers. A lot of that has to do with the mindset and daily work habits most players have. There's a lot of talent at the Triple-A level, and most of these guys have been to the Major Leagues at one point or another."
