
CLEVELAND MONSTERS: Monsters Sign Joe Pendenza to PTO Contract

CLEVELAND - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, announced Tuesday that third-year forward Joe Pendenza signed a 25-game PTO contract with the team Monday afternoon in advance of the Monsters' Tuesday night road tilt vs. the Iowa Wild. A 5'11", 190 lb. left-handed native of Wilmington, MA, Pendenza, 25, posted 3-2-5 with a +1 rating in four appearances for the ECHL's Manchester Monarchs this season prior to his signing with Cleveland.
In 98 career AHL appearances for the Milwaukee Admirals spanning parts of three seasons from 2013-16, Pendenza tallied 12-14-26 with 20 penalty minutes and a -4 rating. In 38 career ECHL games played for Manchester and the Cincinnati Cyclones spread across parts of three seasons from 2014-16, Pendenza supplied 16-15-31 with 28 penalty minutes and a +4 rating.
Prior to his professional career, Pendenza logged 49-61-110 with 118 penalty minutes and a +36 rating in 152 NCAA appearances for UMass-Lowell spanning four seasons from 2010-14. In 2012-13, Pendenza helped the River Hawks claim the Hockey East regular-season and tournament titles en route to UMass-Lowell's first-ever Frozen Four appearance. Pendenza was also named to the 2012-13 Hockey East Second All-Star Team and the 2010-11 Hockey East All-Academic Team during his time at UMass-Lowell.
