Ottawa 67's News Release

(Ottawa ON)--The Ottawa 67's today announced that the City of Ottawa will honour their retiring Assistant Coach, Bert O'Brien, by proclaiming tomorrow (Friday, March 6th) Bert O'Brien day. The proclamation will be read by Mayor Larry O'Brien as part of a pre-game ceremony which will pay tribute to Coach O'Brien for his 22 seasons behind the bench with Head Coach Brian Kilrea.

"We're delighted that the City will bestow this honour on Bert to recognize his many years of service to the Ottawa sports community and the community at large," said 67's Owner and Governor Jeff Hunt. "He has played a major role in helping to shape hundreds of teenage boys into upstanding, contributing members of society, and we are fortunate to have had him in our organization."

The 67's "Bert O'Brien Night" ceremony will precede their game against the Barrie Colts at the Civic Centre, tomorrow at 7:30 pm. 2,500 seats are still available for the game by ordering online at www.Ottawa67s.com or by telephone at 613.599.FANS.
