
Cincinnati Marshals sign local quarterback

Cincinnati, OH - The Cincinnati Marshals proudly announce the signing of local star quarterback Brett Dietz for the 2005 season.
Brett is from Villa Hills, Kentucky and played his high school football at Covington Catholic where he set individual game records in 1999 for total offense, passing yards, and passing attempts. After graduation, he attended Hanover College in Madison, Indiana where he shined as a four-sport athlete playing football, basketball, golf and baseball.
During his time at Hanover, Brett led the Panthers to three Heartland Conference Championships, three berths into the national playoffs, was a two-time all-Heartland Conference selection and holds two NCAA Playoff passing records. As a junior in 2002 Brett was named the team's most valuable offensive back, a first-team all-Heartland Conference pick and completed 182 of 309 passes for a total of 2,296 yards and 26 touchdowns while leading Hanover to a 10-1 record.
In his 2003 senior campaign Brett led the nation in total offense with 380.5 yards per game and set three school single-season records with 575 pass attempts, 360 completions and 4,031 yards. He threw 35 touchdown passes giving him the second-highest single-season touchdown total in school history. He was named the Panthers' most valuable player and finished his career at Hanover ranked third in career touchdown passes with 67, fourth in career completions with 583, and fourth in completion percentage with 61.6%.
In 2004, Brett led Turku Trojans of the Finnish Professional League all the way to the Championship game after an outstanding 10-0 season. He was named the league's top passer after averaging 270.3 yards per game and also ranked first in total offense averaging 288.4 yards per game. In nine games he completed 160 of 272 passes for 2,433 yards and 24 touchdowns.
