Cincinnati Cyclones Announce Revised 2008-09 Schedule

July 24, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones announced their revised 2008-09 ECHL schedule this afternoon. The schedule changes were necessitated with the termination of the Pensacola Ice Pilots' ECHL rights as announced by the league on June 23.

The Cyclones home schedule makes one date change, as there is no longer a game at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday, January 7, which was where Pensacola was to visit Cincinnati. In its place, a Wednesday, December 3 visit by Dayton. The Cyclones have flipped weekends with Johnstown as well. The Chiefs will visit U.S. Bank Arena on December 5-6, while the Cyclones will travel to the Cambria County War Memorial on January 2-3.

Cincinnati's schedule was heavily effected overall by the changes, as games at Johnstown (Nov. 11) and at Wheeling (Jan. 11 and March 1) have been added to the schedule. Removed from the schedule were games at Elmira (Jan. 30-31) and at Pensacola (Feb. 7). The weekend of February 20-21, Dayton will visit U.S. Bank Arena, in place of Elmira. The following weekend (Feb. 27-28), the Jackals make a visit to the Queen City in place of Trenton. The last change is Johnstown replacing Dayton in an April 1 showdown in Cincinnati.

The Cyclones will open the 2008-09 season at Wheeling on Friday, October 17. The club opens at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, October 25 with a clash against Dayton.

The Cyclones will host nine games on Friday nights and eleven on Saturdays. A total of eight home games will be played in November, while seven contests will be played each month at U.S. Bank Arena in December, January and February. The squad will head south for a two city, five game, nine day trip from February 6-14 (Florida and Mississippi).

For the first time, Cincinnati fans will get their first in person look at Gwinnett, which will come to town March 18-19.

"We are very excited about the schedule for the 2008-09 season," U.S. Bank Arena Vice President/General Manager Kristin Ropp said. "Attendance picked up after January 1 this season and to have ten of our weekend dates in the second half of next year is going to really help us."

Tickets for the 2008-09 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. Ticket packages are available for every budget, call the Cyclones at 513-421-PUCK (7825) for more details. The home season starts on Saturday, October 25 when the Dayton Bombers come to U.S. Bank Arena.
