Idaho Falls Chukars News Release
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - The Chukars evened up the series against the Rocky Mountain Vibes on Wednesday evening.
Tom Walker was on the bump making his fourth start of the season, while Christian Day would get the start for the Vibes.
Rocky Mountain got the scoring started in the top of the 2nd inning, where they put up a three spot. The Chukars would answer right back in the bottom half of the frame, thanks to a 2-RBI double from Alex Stinnett. That ended an 0-11 streak from Stinnett, as he was one of many unexpected heroes for Idaho Falls in this game.
The Chukars would tie up the game thanks to a sacrifice fly from Mark Herron Jr. in the bottom of the fourth. They later took the lead in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a solo shot from Zach May. It was May's fifth home run of the season, and fourth in the last three games. Not only is May near the top of the PBL Leaderboards in walks, but he is starting to get up there in homers as well.
Idaho Falls would add on one more insurance run thanks to an RBI single from Mark Herron Jr. in the bottom of the 7th, and they would ultimately take game two by a score of 5-3.
Idaho Falls' starter Tom Walker exited the game one out into the 6th inning, after a combacker at 100 mph hit him in the leg. Victor Rodriguez came into the game in relief, and threw 1.2 innings of shutout ball, allowing one hit and striking out two batters. Bryant Bagshaw was the next reliever up, and recorded a six out save. He also struck out two batters and allowed only one hit. Bagshaw now is atop the PBL with four saves.
The Chukars and Vibes play the rubber match of this series on Thursday evening. The gates at Melaleuca Field open up at 6:00PM, and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
