BATTLE CREEK, MI - The Bomber offense struggled for the second consecutive night, dropping the rubber match against the Wisconsin Woodchucks 6-1.

Wisconsin took advantage of an early Bomber error and scored a run in the top half of the 1st on an RBI single by Brendon Hayden (Virginia Tech). Battle Creek responded in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a run of their own to tie the game at 1. Kyle Figgins hit a hard ground ball into right field that scored Sikes Orvis.

An RBI fielder's choice from Brandon Cogswell scored Chevas Numata in the 4th inning to give the Woodchucks a 2-1 lead. Wisconsin's offense continued to chip away at Bomber pitching; they scored one run in the 4th, 5th, 2 runs in the 6th, and 1 more in the 7th to take a 6-1 lead.

Battle Creek scattered 5 singles throughout the game, but the Woodchucks stranded those runners on base for an eventual 6-1 victory.

The first off day of the season is tomorrow. After the quick break, the Bombers will hit the road for 6 against the Eau Claire Express (3) and the Green Bay Bullfrogs (3).
