Wausau Woodchucks News Release
Wausau, WIS - After the Woodchucks stranded the bases loaded in the top of the first inning, they never found their offensive groove and fell to the Battle Creek Bombers, 7-0, at C.O. Brown Stadium in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Tyler Krabbe's (Montevallo) sinking liner to right field was caught to end the Woodchucks' threat.
Joey Steele (San Francisco) went three innings on the start and conceded six runs, five of which came in the third inning, on 10 hits and took the loss.
Stevie Mangrum (Virginia Tech) picked up two hits, including a double, to lead the Woodchucks' offense. Steve Passatempo (UMass Lowell) also had two hits to continue his torrid start and raise his average over .400.
Wisconsin falls to 5-3 on the season. First pitch tomorrow is at 6:05 CT against Battle Creek (6-3).
