
Christopher Raub Welcomed Back as Executive Director of Everett Youth Hockey

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), Western Conference and U.S. Division champions, announced in conjunction with Everett Youth Hockey (EYH) that Christopher Raub has been named Executive Director of EYH effective immediately. Raub returns for his second tenure with the program, previously serving as director in the first ten years as director and co-founder in 2003.

"Christopher, after a few years away from the game, brings a valuable experience of over ten years to the EYH program and immediately brings new energy to developing its initiatives and outreach of the game in Snohomish County."

"Their professionalism in working together to make it possible for me to return as Everett Youth Hockey executive director after serving in the same role as co-founder of EYH and director for the first ten years of the program has created a very exciting opportunity that was too good to pass up. I am looking forward to helping continue grow our outreach of the game within Snohomish County and create a positive experience for youth hockey players, families, and coaches involved."
A key individual with the launch of Everett Youth Hockey in 2003, Raub returns to oversee the day-to-day functions of the program for all age levels and direction of all EYH programs, registration, admission, and personnel, along the ice surfaces of downtown Everett's Angel of the Winds Arena, home of the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League, and the adjacent Community Ice Rink. Among the players promoted from the EYH program who are now competing in the Western Hockey League include current Silvertips forward Luke Ormsby, defenseman Wyatte Wylie, and Calgary Hitmen right winger Hunter Campbell.
Raub's terms as an administrator and official include five years as an instructor at the Community Ice Rink, Instructional Hockey Director, experience as head off-ice official with the Silvertips for all home games, overseeing official game statistics and support staff, and 15 years as a referee and off-ice official across youth and adult levels across Washington, New York, and Texas.
An active participant in the game as a coach at several youth levels, he has 30 years of experience as a head coach and assistant coach across New York, Texas, and in Washington with EYH. He helped launch EYH as a head coach at the instructional level and in his most recent season, 2012-13, his EYH Midget "B" Junior Silvertips captured the PNAHA State B championship. He additionally served as assistant coach for the EYH Midget Bruins who won the NPSHL Midget championship. Raub has also earned three USA Hockey certifications at the coaching level, and as high as level four.
A player who competed as high as the NCAA Division III level, Raub began playing hockey at the age of five and additionally participated in an adult "A" League All-Star game with Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille.
Raub, who with wife Jill has three sons, Spencer (20), and twins Keegan (12) and Tavish (12), will continue to reside in Lake Stevens.
