
Christian artists to headline Rapids event August 30

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Thursday, August 6, 2009) - On Sunday, August 30, the Colorado Rapids will be hosting a special postgame event as part of their "Faith & Futbol" celebrations that day.
Following the conclusion of the Rapids' match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park at 1 pm vs. the Houston Dynamo, fans will be able to stay inside the stadium for a free postgame concert featuring Christian national recording artists Wavorly.
Opening for Wavorly will be a special performance by the band Everfound. Also, performer Jordan Shelton will be singing the National Anthem before the start of the match.
Wavorly is a band formed in Mississippi that prides themselves on bringing together a blend of indie, alternative, classic progressive, and hard rock music. Everfound is another nationally accredited Christian rock band. Together these two musical groups will provide fans with a fantastic free family experience.
In addition to the concerts, "Faith and Futbol" will be comprised of keynote speakers, including Rapids Team Chaplain Brad Kenney and other guest speakers, who will be giving their testimonies of the Christian faith after the game is over. Fans attending the event will be eligible to participate in a question and answer session with the keynote speakers as well.
