Chris Jared to be the New Play by Play Voice of the Osprey on TV and Radio

MISSOULA, MT - The Missoula Osprey has announced that Chris Jared will be the new "Voice of the Osprey" for the remainder of the 2019 season. Beginning this week, Jared will be the official play by play announcer for all Osprey TV and Radio broadcasts during the 2019 season on both ESPN Missoula and SWX TV statewide. Jared takes over for Tom Willms who had to resign one week into the season due to some serious unforeseen medical issues. As was the case with Willms, Jared will also assist the Osprey with public relations duties as media relations coordinator, including, assisting media with coach and player interview requests and media information creation.

Most recently, Jared broadcasted men's/women's basketball, baseball, and football games for Saginaw Valley State University (NCAA-DII). He is a graduate of Central Michigan University. During his time at Central Michigan, Jared assisted in the production of athletics with the Chippewa Sports Network, broadcasting a wide variety of sports to the team's website, as well as ESPN3/ESPN+ events. His previous broadcasting for baseball teams has included the Lansing Lugnuts (Midwest League of MiLB), and the Muskegon Clippers (Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League).

"After a quick national search following Tom's unfortunate resignation, we are very pleased to introduce Chris Jared as the 'Voice of the Osprey' , " explained Osprey Vice President Matt Ellis.

"Chris is a young and up and coming star in sports broadcasting. He has experience in Professional Baseball with the Lansing Lugnuts and comes highly recommended. We thank SWX and their great talent of announcers and the talented Kurt Wilson for helping us deliver great broadcasts while we searched for our new voice. Chris Jared joining our broadcast team allows SWX, ESPN Missoula, and the Osprey to continue delivering quality and entertaining play by play coverage all season long."

Jared recently graduated from Central Michigan University. At Central Michigan, Jared assisted in the production of athletics with the Chippewa Sports Network, broadcasting a wide variety of sports to the team's website, as well as ESPN3/ESPN+ events. In 2018, Jared led the sports department of the two student- operated radio stations on campus, broadcasting local high school football, CMU women's basketball, baseball, and softball at WMHW 91.5 FM/101.1 FM.

Following up his time at CMU, Jared broadcasted men's/women's basketball, baseball, and football games for Saginaw Valley State University (NCAA-DII). Other baseball employment included the Lansing Lugnuts (Midwest League), and the Muskegon Clippers (Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League).

Jared will call all Osprey games both at home and on the road on ESPN Missoula 102.9 PM, plus lead the home game broadcasts on SWX TV. All home games will be simulcast on both SWX and ESPN Missoula. Jared will be joined in the booth at home on most games by a guest color commentator featuring SWX and ESPN personalities and local celebrities. In addition to his broadcasting duties, he will be the lead contact for media to schedule interviews with Osprey coaches and players. Jared will oversee all media game notes and roster updates. He will also assist the Osprey with content on both www.missoulaosprey.com and all Osprey social media accounts.

The Osprey open a three game homestand against the first place Idaho Falls Chukars beginning Monday Night July 1st . The homestand will continue with games Tuesday and Wednesday night. Wednesday Night is the annual Osprey Fireworks Extravaganza.
