Chris Colabello Returns
June 11, 2012 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Worcester Tornadoes News Release
Former Tornadoes Infielder Chris Colabello will be honored Monday night at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field. Last season, Chris won the Baseball America Independent League Player of the Year Award and finished in second in every hitting Triple Crown category.
Colabello set career highs and Tornadoes franchise highs in many different departments in his tenure with us. He currently plays for the New Britain (Conn.) Rock Cats, the AA Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, and leads the team with 10 home runs and 44 runs batted in.
Chris will throw out the first pitch and reunite for a bit with his former teammates in the dugout. We'll have an exclusive interview with "C's" and he might even make a cameo in a few places at the park...
Tickets are still available for tonight's doubleheader. The 303 Main Street Office will be open until 3:00pm for in person or over-the-phone orders, and the box office at the ballpark will open at 3 for in-person purchase. Tickets are available online anytime.
Gates open at 4:00, with the first of the seven-inning games starting at 5:05. The second game will start about twenty minutes after the end of game one. All in-between inning promotions will come during game two, and our special ceremony for Chris will be between the games.
Since today's a Must Win Monday, you have a chance to get free tickets! If the Tornadoes lose game two of the doubleheader (the originally scheduled contest), you can exchange your ticket for that game to another Monday through Thursday game of equal or lesser value for free!
